CHESS Retractors

CHESS minimizes, or in many cases eliminates, the need for a surgical assistant, and brings all elements in the surgical field under the direct control of the surgeon. The CHESS System's slim and effective retractors perform their task with a superb feel and a minimum of clutter.

Static Retraction

Static retraction is created by securing a retractor to an anchor boss and positioning as required. Fine adjustments are possible with finger pressure.

Dynamic Retraction

Dynamic retraction is created by inserting a short retractor into elastomer tubing, and then securing the elastomer to an anchor at the desired tension.

There are five versions of Dynamic Retractors and eight versions of Static Retractors available in the CHESS Instrument Line.
